Unicom Tranzit and Maersk Open New Intermodal Route Connecting Teiuș and Budapest

We are excited to announce the launch of a new intermodal connection between the Mahart Terminal in Budapest and our Teiuș International Intermodal Terminal, in partnership with Maersk Logistics & Services Romania.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in expanding efficient, reliable freight transport between Romania and key Central and Western European ports such as Bremerhaven, Rijeka, and Koper via Budapest.

The Teiuș terminal’s strategic location as a vital logistics hub — with excellent rail and road access — facilitates reduced transit times and fewer transshipments compared to traditional routes via Constanța. This service supports Maersk’s global objectives of creating flexible, competitive, and sustainable supply chains while offering customers lower costs, faster customs clearance, and greener transport options.
