Overview

Unicom Halmeu terminal was built by Unicom Group in 1999 as a link between former CIS countries using wide gauge and European countries operating on standard gauge railways.

The terminal is located in Halmeu, the border station and railway customs entry point between Romania and Ukraine. Unicom terminal has rail access on both standard and wide gauge railways, as well as road access for heavy vehicles.  The terminal is about 150km from the A2 (Bucharest – Bors) highway and 40km from the future M3 motorway that will connect Romanian and Hungarian highway systems.
